"Stories about girls disguising themselves as boys are both powerful & wrought with sexism & transphobia. these stories exist because of men-dominate institutions that exclude women. these stories also exist because we wrongly perceive the history of mankind as a series of boys clubs, & when a woman accomplishes something significant, it is a rare exception."
